REISER - Walter F., 55, of West Long Branch, died at home on Saturday, July 16, 2016 surrounded by the family he loved. Walt was a loving and dedicated husband and father whose life was lived in service to others. Despite his professional achievements, Walt found his true joy and meaning in his two daughters, Emily and Allie, whom he adored. He particularly enjoyed coaching them in various sports as they grew and attending their games in high school and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. He will be greatly missed by them and by his wife of 28 years, Kathy. He was predeceased by his parents, Anne and Edward Reiser. Walt will be mourned by his brothers and sisters-in-law from Long Island, Ed and Terry, Rob and Kathy, Jim and Bea and their families. An avid runner all of his life, Walt is lovingly sent home to God by those who love him with the words of St. Paul, "Having run with endurance he has finished the good race." Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, NJ. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, at the funeral home followed by burial at the Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport, NJ. "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded" - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Walt Reiser, you succeeded. You impacted the lives of thousands of people for generations to come. The ripple effect is phenomenal. You single handedly changed the trajectory of many of our lives, mine included.
Thank you for your integrity, motivation, empathy, passion, and kindness throughout the years.
Kathy, Emily, and Allie, thank you for sharing your husband/father over the years as he lit up the world with his smile and generous spirit.
For every kid, who walked out onto a playing field/court/ mat during their time at RFH, thank you. We were in the midst of greatness, we just didn't know it at the time.
God Bless

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I attended RFH from 1991-94 after transferring in late in my freshman year. Reis was supportive from my first day at school until my last. If I ever needed something: the gym opened pre-season, an ankle taped, a letter of recommendation, words of encouragement, Reis was there for me. I'll never forget him and I know I'm not alone among old teammates. Blessings to all.
