John Verity Obituary

VERITY - John R. "Jack"- Columbia, Maryland, formerly of Bayport, New York passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2008 surrounded by loved ones. Jack was the former husband of the late Ida M. Verity of Duxbury, MA. He was born on January 3, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York to Franklin and Marguerite Verity. He is survived by his eldest brother William of Uniondale, NY. He was the older brother of the late Frank "Bud" Verity, James Gerard Verity and Harold "Hats" Verity. Devoted father of daughters Nancy Brown of Wellington, FL, Carolyn Criscuoli of Ellicott City, MD, and son John Verity and his wife Tara of Duxbury, MA. Beloved grandfather of Fain Brown, Jenna Criscuoli, Katie Brown, Ali Criscuoli, John Criscuoli and Ella Verity. Jack served four years in the United States Navy during WWII. A Mass in celebration of Jack's life will be held at Saint Anthony's Shrine Chapel on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 3pm. The Chapel is located at 12290 Folly Quarter Road in Ellicott City, MD. The burial will take place in the early fall at the Calverton National Cemetery located on Long Island, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, c/o Jack Verity, 4 East Rolling Crossroads, Suite 307 Baltimore, Maryland 21228.

Mr. Verity,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
