Peter Chivily

CHIVILY - Peter, the instrument of the great musician, went silent on May 6th, 2009 after a brief but agonizing illness. He was 68. With his humble talent, Peter Chivily has embodied his music into generations of past and future; with his music and love, he has touched many lives. Peter was a loving husband to his wife, Vasso, a devoted father to his daughter Irene, and cherished friend and family member. In honor of that spirit and as a tribute to his wishes, a Greek Orthodox Service followed by a traditional Jazz Funeral will be held on his birthday, Monday May 11th. His fellow musicians are encouraged to participate in the rejoicing of his spirit and the celebration of his music at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Field Avenue, Hicksville.
