Notice Condolences

RILEY - Harry Joseph "Bud", 91, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at his home in Ocean Pines MD. Mr. Riley lived most of his life in Long Island (Springfield Gardens,Elmont, East Meadow, Syosset and Huntington). Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Harry J. Riley and Alice McGeeRiley. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Doris Gausman Riley; and children, Suzanne Riley McCartney and her husband, Ken, of Syosset, NY, Harry "Bud" Riley of Parlin NJ, Daniel Green and his wife, Joyce, of Huntington, NY, Douglas Green and his wife, Maureen, of Pinson, AL, Deborah Riley Fortin and her husband, Peter, of Chesapeake, VA, and Donald Riley and his wife, Sheryl, of Wake Forest, NC. There are 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Elizabeth Szarzynski of Hillsdale, NJ, and Ann Gautrand of Muskegon, MI. There are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by wife Gladys Watts Riley and his bother, Robert Riley. He had worked for many years as a lithographer. He was a loving husband and father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served in the 58th Battalion of the Seabees. He had been the president for many years of the 58th Seabee Association, formed after World War II, until its 60th reunion. He was an avid golfer and reader he loved history, art, music and "Jeopardy." Per his request, cremation followed his death. No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to Coastal Hospice, 10441 Race Track Road, Berlin, MD
