Marvin Feinstein Obituary

FEINSTEIN - Marvin Charles, 78 of East Northport, New York passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 22, 2015, after a long illness. He was a devoted and loving husband for 51 years, and a revered father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Miriam, his brother Donald, his sons Allen and David, and two grandsons. He was born in the Bronx and received degrees from New York University. He worked in public relations, serving as a Vice President of Long Island Trust after many years at CitiBank. He was an avid book collector, and started M & M Books with his wife in retirement. A devoted sports fan, he followed the Yankees, Giants, Knicks and Rangers. He was overjoyed with each Yankees' championship and Giants Super Bown victory, and was thrilled when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup. He was an excellent writer with a dry, quick wit; people found him humorous and charming. The funeral will be held on Sunday, January 25, at 10 am at I.J. Morris Funeral Home, 21 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, New York. Interment to follow at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY. Donations can be made to Special Olympics, Inc.

Bob and I send our sympathies to Dave & Sue and the entire family. Because we know Dave, we know Marvin must have been a special person.

Marvin not only had a keen wit and sense of humor, but he also had extensive knowledge (as do many professional book dealers) of a wide range of subject areas. Marvin was loved and admired by all who knew him and worked with him. His writing and speaking skills were enhanced with his quick wit and humorous insight. He will be missed by all who knew him. Sincere condolences to Miriam and all of his family and friends.
