Our family had the privilege of knowing Mr. Byrnes through his son Frank. We always enjoyed ourselves when Mr. and Mrs. Byrnes came to Ohio for a visit. Mr. Byrnes was easy to talk to and was a great baseball fan. My husband really enjoyed talking to him about baseball. He had a real zest for life. Our sympathy goes out to Mrs. Byrnes and his entire family. They are all a wonderful group of people. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. With our deepest sympathy and love, Sue and Pat Giannell

It is hard to express condolences for such a terrific man. Mr. Byrnes was great dad and an every-day hero who protected the citizens of New York as a firefighter. It was an honor to know him. To me, as a kid growing up in Massapequa, he was bigger than life. I'm sad he is gone but happy to have known him and all the Byrnes family. My sympathies to all the Byrnespeace to you all.

I am sitting here trying to figure out what to say about hearing the sad news about my old boss, Mr. B. Words are coming very hard for me. It's very difficult to know someone you admired and respected is gone. Working for and with him was a pleasure .It did not feel like work at all. He was kind and generous to me and looked out for me as well. There are too many examples to tell here. I will just say, thank you Mr. B. for your service to our Country and to the people of the City of New York. My deepest condolences to his Family and friends. May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand. Rest in Peace Boss.

My sincere condolences to the Byrnes family for their loss. I did not know Mr. Brynes, but my brother, Len Colombo, worked for him for many years at Canon. You would be very
happy to know the love and respect my brother had for him. He was very saddened to hear of his passing.
Len would tell me, almost in awe, stories about Mr. Byrnes in the service, the NYPD, and FDNY. He said Mr. Brynes was not only a friend, but the best boss he ever worked for. I hope it can bring you some solace knowing how he touched my brother's life.
