Garman Harbottle Obituary

HARBOTTLE - Garman. Accomplished scientist Garman Harbottle died on November 4 at 93. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he worked at Brook-haven Lab from 1949 to 1997, where he was named Senior Scientist Emeritus in 2012. He brought new techniques to analysis of archaeological artifacts, including pre-historic Mexican turquoise and Chinese flutes. His work on the Vinland Map was featured on NOVA. He had many interests and was well-liked by his friends at Jefferson Ferry, the Three Villages and all over the world. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Naomi. He is survived by a daughter Laura. Arrangements will be private.
