Doris Annette Wilson, 88, of Ripley, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her residence. She was a homemaker, an accomplished pianist and organist and a member of the Ripley Church of Christ for over 50 years, where she played the piano and organ. She also used her musical talents as a piano teacher in the local community for the last 30 years. While music was her an integral part of her life, her passion was her faith, family and home. Doris was born June 8, 1926 in Akron, the daughter of the late Carl and Grace (Laycock) Peterson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Earl Wilson and two sons, Stephen Carl and John Keys Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by three daughters – Sarah Banzhaf and husband Roger of Cincinnati, Amanda Phillips and husband Scott of Ripley, and Suegene Tatman and husband David of Russellville; six grandchildren – Jeremie Dean and wife Sandy of Cincinnati, Josh Dean of Batavia, Erin Holbrook and husband Vance of Owensville, Emily Tatman of Cincinnati, and Ryan and Lauren Tatman both of Russellville; four great grandchildren – Tori and Blake Dean and Alexandra and Levi Holbrook and one sister – Irene Farmer of Chico, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at the Ripley Church of Christ in Ripley. John Neu and Scott Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the church. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley. The Cahall Funeral Home, in Ripley, serving the family.
