Jean Davis Steenbergen

Jean Davis Steenbergen, 80, of Adairville, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1pm at the New Hope Baptist Church in Adairville with Brother Jarvis Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery with Thurman Blake, Chad Robertson, Chris Lynn, Carlos Ford, Billy Dorris and Matt Blake serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield from 5-9 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Steenbergen was born March 6, 1934, in Logan County to the late Henry Rufus and Mary Bernice Copeland Davis. She worked as the Office Manager of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Adairville until her retirement and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Steenbergen is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl C. Steenbergen. She is survived by her son, Rodger (Tai) Steenbergen of Johnson City, Tenn.; sister, Elizabeth Hall of Adairville; and grandsons, T.J. (Kimberly) Steenbergen and Steven (Kimberly) Steenbergen.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to New Hope Baptist Church and may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
