Harold J. McIntyre, 80, of Bowling Green, formerly of Russellville, passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, in the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
He was born Dec. 29, 1932, in Logan County, a son of the late Marvin Perry and Mary Elizabeth Grayson McIntyre. In addition to his parents, Mr. McIntyre was preceded in death by his son, Jeff McIntyre.
Mr. McIntyre was a member of the Second Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served as a Deacon. He was a Korean War veteran and a was a retired engineer from Emerson Electric.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Steve Smith officiating and Sheila Baugh rendered the Eulogy. Burial followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation began at the funeral home Monday, Sept. 2 from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers were Joda Boley, John Southerland, W.L. Moore, David Abney, Tommy Taylor, Jerry Holloway, Rick Browning, Robbie Matthews, Gaylen Baugh, Joseph McIntyre, Mike Crowder and Jonathan Blick. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of Second Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Oma Page McIntyre; his son, Steve McIntyre and wife Gina of Bowling Green; his daughter-in-law, Christie Wiley of Bowling Green; his niece, Patricia Crowder Scott; his nephew, Mike Crowder, and his grandchildren, Joseph McIntyre, Chanley Gray, Jaleigh McIntyre and Brycen McIntyre.
The family asks that donations be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund.
