Curtis Samuel Tweedy, age 72, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his residence.
He was born in Tazewell, Va., on Nov. 26, 1941, to the late Samuel Thompson and Mabel Mildred Horton Tweedy.
He worked in management as a team leader with Logan Aluminum, a member of the Auburn Pierce Memorial Methodist Church, a United States Air Force veteran, member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge #374 and 32nd Degree Socttish Rite, Rizpah Shriner and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Randall Eitel and a granddaughter, Hilliary Lee Tweedy.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Virginia Tweedy; four daughters, Karen Eitel of Franklin, Katherine Tunsill and Clay of Auburn, Jennifer Thomas and Rocky of Russellville and Sara Tweedy-Marcell and Kris of Kerhonkson, N.Y.; four sisters, Shirley Wray, Joyce King, Nancy Cook and Dana Stewart, all of Virginia, and seven grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service for Curtis Samuel Tweedy will be conducted Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel. Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday, April 27 from 2-3 p.m.
The family request contributions be made to the Pearce Memorial United Methodist Church in Auburn or Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
