Ruth Laster Markham, age 87, of Boyles Drive, Russellville, Ky., passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville, Ky.
She was a Todd County native born July 15, 1927, to the late Elvie Laster and Patie Edwards Laster.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Walnut Grove Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas "Tommy" Markham.
She is survived by one son, Billy Markham (Linda) of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Brenda Dillard (James) of Ozark, Ala.; three sisters, Kathryn Robinson of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mary Taylor of Clarkston, Mich. and Betty Boley of Hopkinsville, Ky.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Markham, Will Markham, Christy Gannon and Jaime Atkins, and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Dustin, Reece, Presley, Christian and Hunter.
Funeral services for Ruth Laster Markham will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Brother Calvin Naylor officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home Tuesday, Aug. 5 will begin at 11 a.m. lasting until the funeral hour at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers are Josh Harper, Jason Harper, Mike Perdue, Jerry Boley, Dustin Reeves and Jessie William Markham.
