Celia Floyd Obituary


Celia Wiley Floyd, 74, of Panama City Beach, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in her home.

Celia was born on January 25, 1940 in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. She studied at Petersburg Hospital, Petersburg, Virginia, Gulf Coast State College and University of Texas, Austin. She worked as a Registered Nurse for most of her life. She was a member of St. Thomas by the Sea Episcopal Church. In her spare time, she loved gardening. She just returned from a two week trip to Hawaii, which was her favorite place.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Greenberg and her parents, Rupert & Gladys Wiley.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Floyd; four children, Kori Greenberg (Floyd Mitchell), Rob Floyd (Darlene), Jan Floyd, Glen Greenberg (Kelly); two grandchildren, Delaney Greenberg, Pfeifer Floyd; and special friend, Terri Gainer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Thomas by the Sea Episcopal Church, corner of Wisteria Lane and First Avenue, Laguna Beach, Florida with the Reverend Tom Weller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas by the Sea Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 7359, Panama City Beach, FL 32413 in memory of Celia Floyd. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
