Helene Saliba, 91 of Panama City, died Sept. 24, 2016, at Covenant Care Hospice. Friends will be received Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will be held in Forest-Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Smith, Katie L. Halstead*  
Katie L. Halstead Smith, 79, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on the 7th of Sept., 2016 at the Pensacola residence where she lived with her sister. Katie was born in Pinkett, AL to Colbert and Aller Smith on the 12th of Nov. 1936. Katie is survived by her sons Vincent Halstead of Tacoma, WA, Reginald Halstead of Warner Robins, GA, sister Dorothy Bender of Pensacola, brother Albert Smith of Panama City. Grandchildren: Angeline Clayton and Reginald Halstead Jr. of Denver, CO, Glenn Halstead Jr., Fekicia Manley, and Brittany Duncan of Panama City. Taylor Halstead, and Darren Halstead of Atlanta, GA. Gloria Halstead, and Grandt Halstead of Warner Robins, GA. 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Glenn Halstead, brothers Grady, Lemar, William, John, and Paul, and sister Willie Lee. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in Panama City, FL on the 26th of Sept. at Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 909 E 8th St, Panama City, FL 32401.

Sexton Sr. , Charles Clyde*  
Mr. Charles Clyde Sexton, Sr., 89, of Wewahitchka, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at his home after an extended battle with cancer. Charlie was born on May 20, 1927 in Panama City, to parents Friley Marion and Clara Padgett Sexton. He graduated from Bay High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy. Charlie's working career was dedicated primarily to sales and after working at Daffin Mercantile in Panama City for many years, he began as an independent wholesaler selling building supplies. In 1969 Charlie purchased a fish camp on the Dead Lakes naming it Charlie's Fish Camp and his family moved to Wewahitchka. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church while in Panama City and later First Baptist Church of Wewahitchka and most recently attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Ruth J. Sexton; a daughter, Donna J. Pybus; brothers, Marion, Gerald, Lucius and Kenneth Sexton and a sister, Georgia Redmon. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Robbie H. Sexton of 27 yrs.; sons, Charles "Chuck" Sexton, Jr. of Wewahitchka, Chris Sexton of Crawfordville, FL and Brooks Davis and wife Tammy of Darlington, FL; daughters, Debbie Barnes and husband Roy of Wewahitchka and Leigh Pogue and husband Tim of Birmingham, AL; sister, Betty Hughes of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Guffey and husband Jamey and Justin Barnes all of Wewahitchka, William and Hannah Sexton of Crawfordville, FL, Tina Bell and husband Ryan of Freeport, FL,Tyler Pogue and wife Elise, Nicolas Pogue and wife Holli and Meagan Pogue and fiancé Adam Adair all of Birmingham, AL, Justin Davis and Alicia Cook and husband Leo of DeFuniak Springs, FL; great-grandchildren, Haley Guffey, Braxton Barnes, Jace Cook, Amber Davis, Zachary Pridgeon, Addison and Audrey Bell; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Smith and Reverend David Taunton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Stone, Nina C*  
Nina C Stone, went to be with her Husband, CWO4 (USN/Ret), Paul W. Stone (Gunner) and the Good Lord on Sunday the 18th of Sept. Born July 29, 1938, in Robinson, Il, to the late Rev Loren and Ruby Catt. She has been a long time resident of Panama City. She worked at the Navy base until her retirement in 1998, and then did seasonal work with H and R block. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her roses and pulling "those weeds". It was said, "She took up a lot of space for a 'tiny' women." She was preceded by her son, Wayne Stone, sister, Donna Whitsell, brother, Kenny Catt and granddaughter, Holly Stewart. Survivors to cherish her memory are her sister, Rosie Jenkins, Robinson, Il, her children Cheryl Stone Cox and Jeff Cox, Las Vega, NV, and Cyndi Stone Stewart and Joe Stewart of Lynn Haven, FL and Jeff Stone of Lynn Haven, FL. Six grandchildren, Jeffery and Melanie Cox, Greg Cox, Katie Cox, Sean Cox, Robert and Kiersten Stewart and John Stewart. Great-Grandchildren, Scott and Kaelin Cox. Brothers and Sisters-in-law from Illinois, Indiana and Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. And numerous friends around the states and world. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
