Debra Ann (Neilson) Fogo, 57, from Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away on July 30, 2013, in Panama City, Fla., after battling many illnesses.
Through this she showed the spirit of a pioneer woman. She was born on Sept. 20, 1955, in Beloit, Kan., to Murlin and Marlene (Shunkwiler) Neilson.
She grew up in Mankato, Kan., and lived in Andover, Kan., before moving to Panama City Beach, Fla. Her hobbies included painting, sewing and collecting. Debra met and married to George Fogo on April 19, 1974. From this union two daughters were born, Melissa (Billy) Harmon and Daana Fogo.
Debra is survived by her husband, George of the home; two daughters, Melissa (Billy) Harmon and Daana Fogo; her mother, Marlene Neilson of Mankato; her siblings, Donald, Roger and Michael Neilson, Kathy (Fred) Putman, and Mona (Michael) Terry; grandmother of Brayden and Dylan Harmon and Mason Young. She was preceded in death by her father, Murlin Neilson; and grandparents, Richard and Mary (Park) Neilson and Wesley and Vera (Wallenberg) Shunkwiler.
A celebration of life service was held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato, Kan., with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Pallbearers will be Donald Neilson, Roger Neilson, Mike Neilson, Billy Harmon, Justin Young, and Billy Neilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Putman, Tony Phillips, Jason Heise, Michael Grubbs, Bob Reynolds and Mike Terry. Interment service will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kan. Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at the mortuary, and 1 p.m. until service time at Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato.
