Evelyn Pitts Brewton of Panama City, Fla., died Saturday morning at age 95, June 22, 2013. Evelyn opened her heart and home to all. She will be remembered for the abundance of love and warmth she so freely gave. She was an inspiration for her generous heart and the lessons she taught all of her children and grandchildren.
Evelyn was a retired nurse and a wonderful homemaker and mother. A lifelong resident of Panama City, she enjoyed her family of four generations, her time with friends in the Panama City Woman's Club and continued luncheons with her Bay High School classmates of 1937. Her gardens, both vegetable and floral, were her pride and joy.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sewall W. Brewton; her parents, Charlie and Lovie Pitts; her nine siblings and one infant son, Sewall Warren Jr.
Survivors include her children, Carol Forney (Bill), Phyllis Clayton and Warren (Mona) Brewton; seven grand-children, Matt Forney, Brooke Forney, Brandi Eslava, Karissa Clayton, Natalie Brewton, Shelby Brewton, and Taylor Ellerbee (Dylan); three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was a blessing and a beautiful example of how to live life to all of us who knew her. She will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Airport Road, with Father John Wave officiating, followed by graveside interment. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date to be determined.Wilson Funeral Home
