Glenda Jean Dillon, 74, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at her home due to an extended illness.
Jean was born in Empire, GA May 28, 1938. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who was surrounded by loved ones as she left peacefully to her eternal life. Jean's greatest joys including being with her family, watching her beautiful flowers grow, dancing, Gator football, and, in her younger days, lying on the beach. She was a member of the VFW
Post # 8205 Auxiliary in Parker, FL, and greatly enjoyed cooking for the Ladies Auxiliary events with many of her VFW friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Dirt Dillon, who left this earth last January. Also preceding her were her father, William Ellis Maddox, mother, Gladys B. Floyd, sister Jacqueline Sikes and brother, Wallace Maddox.
She leaves behind one daughter, Pamela Angela Foster and husband Les of Crystal River; a son, Jackson Keith Koon and wife Patty of O'Brien, FL; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Billy Ray Maddox of Cochran, GA and Clinton Floyd of Orange Park, FL a very special friend, as close as a sister in heart, Annette Hunt (Coosie); a very special niece, Janet Maddox of St. Pete, FL and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will always admire, love, and cherish her memory. Jean's sense of humor and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Jean's pallbearers will be her friends from VFW Post # 8205, Parker, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd., Panama City, FL 32405, in memory of Glenda J. Dillon.Kent-Forest Lawn
