Joyce Marie Ruggs Leroux, 68, of Panama City, made her final journey home to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 24, 2013.
She was born the daughter of and predeceased by Judge Sanford and Hattie Lucille Ruggs on January 2, 1945 in Panama City Florida. She is survived by two daughters, Terri Lyn Riley (Robert) and Stacey Maria Mabius (Dan); brother and sister, Gerald Sanford Ruggs (Sandra) and Nancy Gayle Ruggs; and nephew, Eric Krichbaum. Ms. Leroux, a loving mother and grandmother, is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Riley, Christopher Riley (Asia), Kacey Jackson (Corbett), Joseph Jackson; great grandchildren, Kaliah Riley and Vincent McEwen; as well as her K-9 companion, Jenny; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Joyce's professional background includes an LPN at Bay Memorial Hospital, CCA, Law Enforcement at Bay County Sheriff's Department, Division of Forestry, and the Highway Patrol as a dispatcher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City. She loved to decorate, sew, shop and line dance. She really enjoyed sitting on her front porch feeding her raccoons and listening to the birds.
Joyce's family is grateful for the care she received from the Innovative Hospice Care VITAS in Casselberry, FL and MD Anderson, ORMC of Orlando, for the staff at Bay Medical Cardiac floor. For the care she received from her good friend Elaine Roberts.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating.
