Katherine K. James, 89 of Port St. Joe, FL passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013.
She was born in Montgomery, AL to the late Lovick H. and Tommie Colley Kimbrough. She had resided in the Chumuckla Community for many years before moving to the Port St. Joe area. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from NAS Pensacola Civil Service with over 20 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas W. James; sister, Vesta Diamond; four brothers, Lloyd Kimbrough, Fred Kimbrough, John Kimbrough and Pete Kimbrough.
Mrs. James is survived by her daughter, Joan (Ted ) Lovelace, Mexico Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Suzanne Hodges, Headland, AL, Beverly Cordell, Anchorage, AK, Steven James, Shea GaVette, Shannon Goldsmith all of Enterprise, AL, and Katherine James, Houston, TX; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Betty Hendricks, Dothan, AL; and a brother, Jack (Dixie) Kimbrough, Ft. Worth, TX.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at Chumuckla Community Church (Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church) with Rev. Tom Sharon, officiating. Burial followed in Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery.There will be a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Callaway United Methodist Church in Callaway, Florida (Panama City). Reception to follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel entrusted with arrangements.

Aunt Kat will always be the sweetest, dearest person I've ever known. We had so much fun and laughter together and memories of her have often lightened my day. She is missed. God bless you Kat.

Ms Kat was such a classy, genteel lady, a real class act. She brought joy and laughter with her everywhere. She will be sorely missed. I pray God's peace for her family because she is walking with Jesus! Praise God!
