Gertha Pressley Obituary
Gertha was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Fannie Mae Dawson, her husband, Louis Pressley, her sister, Freddie Woods, her brother, Charles Dawson Jr., and her son, Jimmy Dawson.
She is survived by her children Jackie Pressley, Louis Pressley, Charles Pressley, Jenice Pressley-Puckett and Dexter Pressley, all of Panama City, Fla; brother, William Dawson; nieces, Wilma Christmas (Ollie), Panama City, Fla.; Patricia Derico, Calif.; Shirley Geary (Reginald), Va.; nephew Moses Derico, Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren Quinton Pressley, Nicholas Puckett, Frederick Puckett, Auroniece Jackson, Thomas Pressley and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ms. Pressley will be Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Battle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dante McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will begin today at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to here of Mother Pressley passing. She was a wonderful woman and beautiful grandmother to the grandchildren in Selma. I assisted in moving her to Panama City from Selma. I will always remember her Jokes, Smile, and candid advice. May God be with Dexter and the entire family.

To "Rat", nieces, nephews and other family members my sister Sherolyn and I remember Gertha Dean well while growing up in Green Street Baptist Church.
