Dorothy Putman Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Putman, age 85, of Panama city Beach, FL passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at her home in the arms of loving family members under the direction of Covenant Hospice.

She was born on October 4, 1925 in Wilshire, OH, county of Mercer, Blackhawk Township, to William Glenn White and Glendola Fern (Case) White. She graduated from Pleasant Mills H.S., IN, and married in 1946 in Fort Wayne, IN. She moved to Florida in 1952 and lived in Lighthouse Point and Sebring, FL, before moving to Panama City Beach in 2001.

She is survived by: son, Donald Putman of Tallahassee; daughters, Mary Garrett, Connie Hancock, and Cindy Haisten, of Panama City Beach; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Meredith; one son, Thomas Glenn Putman; both parents; and one brother, William Junior White.

She was a member of the Methodist faith.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Steve Watson officiating. Visitation will be immediately preceding the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405.
