Edna Gallo Obituary
Edie, as she was lovingly known, retired from a long and successful career in the Civil Service working at Homestead Air Force Base, Miami; Patrick AFB, Satellite Beach, where she met and fell in love with her husband, John J. Gallo; Shepard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas; and finally Tyndall AFB, Panama City.
Edie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a vibrant and passionate woman of faith, whose legacy to all who loved her was to work for what they needed and to know that anything beyond that was a gift. We will miss you always and forever, 23.
Mrs. Gallo is survived by her husband of 30 years, John J. Gallo, daughter, Sharon Hotaling Glidden, step-children, Cathy Robinson, Michael Gallo and Kevin Gallo; her grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Michael Fletcher Johnson, Jack Gallo and Sophia Gallo; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah Bradshaw and Gracie Johnson.
A memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 5622 Julie Drive (Highway 231 in Bayou George).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church Building Fund.
