Kimberley Raffield Obituary

Kimberley Louise Bowman Raffield, 44, of Panama City Beach, Fla., went to her new home in Heaven on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

Kim was a loving mother, wife, daughter and most of all a very caring person.

She always put her family and friends first. If anyone was ever in need, she was always there for them. She was an avid outdoorsman. She loved hunting, fishing and caring for the environment God created for our enjoyment. She was always looking for the positive in all things. She was known as one of the best in the charter business for booking new clients and retaining them. This was due to her will to make sure those who fished with their fleet were happy and enjoyed their trip.

Kim loved spending her free time in the woods working on the hunting lease. When she was working, she worked for the sake of her family, not for what she could have. She was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off of her back or her last dollar.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Capt. Leveral Raffield, sons, Capt. Cody.

Raffield of Family Tradition, Capt. Clarence Raffield, daughter, Crystal Raffield, step-son, Capt. Nick Raffield. She considered Matt Gross one of her own as well. She is survived by her mother, Stella Viola Cain, sister, Carol McAdam (Mike), special mother-in-law, Madeline Raffield, her uncle, Choyce Pate (Vera), aunt, Barbara Johnson, brothers-in-law, George Raffield, Richard Raffield (Terri), Ronald Raffield, and Ricky Raffield (Kaitlyn), sisters-in-law, Diane Raffield, Teresa Barber (Eric), Joanne Gilmore (Daren) and Edith Bownell (James), and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend James Brogdon officiating.

Interment will follow at Callaway Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Capt. Brad Bradley, Capt. Mark Maritone, Capt. Matt Gross, Capt. Ricky Raffield, John Law, Jerrett Everrett, Chuck Ayers and Tim Westbrook.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the funeral home.

Plans for an annual benefit fishing tournament in Kim's name to help others less fortunate is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

Kim Raffield was like a mother to me! I recently moved in with the Raffield's back in December. Ever since then, Kim had treated me as if I were one of her own!Me and Crystal have grown very close throughout this time, and I will be here for her every step of the way, as well as my fiance Cody, Leveral and Clarence! Kim was a very hardworking person, whom wanted everyone to work hard and succeed! I admired her in many ways! I just hope to be able to fill some of her BIG SHOES!! I Love You Kim and I'll see you again one day<3

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why Kim left this earth so soon, or why she left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that she died, but that Kim lived. And that her life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
My memories of her are of a compassionate, caring mother...involved in her children's educaton...
