Myrtle Mitchell Obituary

Myrtle Mitchell, 88, of Panama City, Fla., passed away March 29, 2011. Mrs. Mitchell was born the daughter of Harold Orville and Mary Jane Cross on March 7, 1923, in Wellsburg, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Mitchell.

She is survived by her sister, Rose Fulcintic of Follansbee of W.Va.; five children, William H. Mitchell, also of Follansbee, W.Va., Michael Mitchell of Panama City, Linda Mitchell Gunn and her husband, Skeeter, of Panama City, Mary Jo Mitchell Barnes of Fountain, Bonnie Mitchell Granger and her husband, Cecil, of Panama City. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shawn Smith and his girlfriend, Leslie Fisk, Nicole Smith, Tayna Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Kellie Mitchell, Billy Mitchell and William Mitchell, Alan Tampellini and his wife, Janay, Toni Shaw and her husband, Tom, Tina Maxwell and her boyfriend, Bobby Hicks, Dean Allen Barnes and Lori Ann Stephens; six great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the chapel at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Ave., with Chaplain Jason Adams officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Alan Tampellini, Justin Tampellini, Wesley Stephens, Cody Smith, Lori Stephens, Joey Barnes and A.J. Barnes.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Emerald Coast Hospice taking loving care of our mother, especially Betty Moore, Roger Williams, Mary Green, Stacey Bowers, Donna Broom, Chaplain Jason Adams and Chaplain Craig Brannon.

We would also like to thank Dr. Hayat, Dr. Evans and Dr. Walker.
