Billy Danford Obituary
Mr. Danford was born May 7, 1928 to the late Pharaoh Danford and Preacher Nella Danford-Wright in Wicksburg, AL. He was a graduate of Bay High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy for several years before becoming a contractor, specializing in masonry and fireplaces. Mr. Danford loved fishing, collecting shells from Shell Island and relaxing watching the waves.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Danford.
Mr. Danford is survived by a son, Tate Danford; two daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Locke, Jennifer "Jeni" Danford; four grandchildren, Steven, Devin, Wynter, Brooke; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Polly Shrader and husband, Paul, Imogene Ritch; two brothers, Tiras Danford, Robert Danford; and several special nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life was conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Southerland Family Funeral Home with Chaplain Virgil Tillman officiating.
