John Neves Obituary
Mr. Neves was born Nov. 30, 1942 to the late Vaughn and Marie Neves in Camden, Ark.. He was a 1960 graduate of Bay High School followed by Gulf Coast Community College and Tennessee Tech University. Mr. Neves spent his career as an accountant for Sunshine Jr. Stores, Sikes Concrete Pipe Company and Miracle Strip - Shipwreck Island Corporation. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blountstown. Mr. Neves also served on the board of directors of the Boys Club of Bay County and was a lifetime member of the Panama City Optimist Club. He loved playing golf with his friends and spending time with his family.
Mr. Neves is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary Sue Neves; two sons, Todd Neves and wife, Julie, Ryan Neves and wife, Amanda; two stepdaughters, Bridget Jones, January Jones; grandchildren, Makay Neves, Graham Neves, Bryce Neves, Vincent Jones; his twin brother, Robert Neves, and wife, Janice; his brother, Don Neves; and his longtime family friend, Arthur Cullen.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at 4 p.m.. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Rhoads officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Neves memory can be made to the American Legion Post #356. Expressions of sympathy may be submitted or viewed at www.southerlandfamily.com.

I am so sorry for your loss. My grandfather was Robert Neves, and I remember meeting Robert and Richard when I was a child living for a short time in Panama City while my father was in Korea, and my grandmother Lockie and my mother Frances would take us to the beach. We lived on Jenks Avenue. I now live in Maine near Popham Beach. I am doing some research about my mothers family and want to make a trip to Panama City soon. I remember how much fun Vaughan and Marie were to be with.
