Ernest Robert Trejo, a resident of Bay Point, Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, May 14th, 2014 at Covenant Hospice.

He was born the son of Frank and Christine Trejo on Feb. 26th, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a resident of Bay County since moving here in 1988 from Dayton, Ohio.

Ernest was a Board Certified Internal Auditor. He retired in 1986 as Chief of Staff from the Air Force Audit Agency. He also served on the Board of the Civil Service Commission in Chicago, Ill. Upon retiring, Ernest received the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal. He was also a disabled veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

Ernest was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Merrill, his parents, and his sister Lucy Gomez.

He is survived by two sons, Ron (Carolyn) and their children, Dior and Rykki, and Rick (Nona) and their children, Ryan and Shelby, stepdaughter, Donna (Mike) Pierce, stepson, Dennis (Yvette) Emanual and many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19th, 2014 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Father Paul Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
