Frank E. Kerr, 60, of Lynn Haven, FL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 16, 2014, following a long illness.
Frank was born on October 19, 1953, in Oskaloosa, IA, to Robert & Julia Spaur Kerr. He was a 1972 graduate of Keokuk Senior High School in Keokuk, IA. On July 19, 1973, he married Pamela Wright and they began a lifelong journey of working side by side. Frank worked in theater management in Iowa and Illinois until 1975, at which time he began his career in advertising. He was very talented in advertising design and worked as the Publisher of multiple publications in Iowa and Florida.
Frank was well accomplished. He served as the President of the Student Council in high school, was awarded the Salute to Outstanding Teenagers and was the Treasurer of the Student Council at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL. He belonged to many community-minded organizations, such as: Rotary Club, Jaycees, Lion's Club, Toastmasters, Chamber of Commerce, Panama City Stamp Club and the Panama City Coin Club. He was a member of St. Andrew Baptist Church.
Frank was an avid animal lover and enjoyed spending time working with his wife in their yard. He loved writing, movies, politics, studying history, boating, and making others laugh. He was a generous person and often went out of his way to help those in need. Above all else, Frank deeply loved and cared for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Kerr; his brother, Jay C. Kerr; his mentor and close friend, Peter A. Nepote; his beloved dog and companion, Ellie Mae; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Frank leaves to cherish his wife of 41 years, Pamela Wright Kerr; daughters Daylene St.Peter & Tammy Pennington; sons David Kerr & wife Michelle and Michael Kerr & wife Jasmine; grandchildren Ashley, Tatum, Carson, Justin, Addison & Kensie; his "girls" Eboney & Bailey; his beloved mother, Julia Spaur Kerr; brothers Bill Black & wife Penny, Gary Black & wife Ann, Kenny Kerr, Stacey Kerr & wife Chris, and Quincy Kerr & wife Cheryl; sisters Debbie Daley & husband Paul, Theresa Kerr, and Julie Wells & husband Trevor; uncle Jim Kerr; aunts Pearl Kephart and June Barber; and many beloved family and friends.
Services will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 22, 2014, at St. Andrew Baptist Church, Panama City, FL. Graveside services will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lynn Haven, FL.
