James "Jim" Christian, 80, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at a local nursing home.

James was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a life-long resident of Bay County and a member of the Parker Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and maintained the church vehicle. During his career, James was a surveyor for the Bay County Engineering Dept. for 36 years. He also enjoyed carpentry in his spare time. James was a friendly and kind person who never met a stranger.

James is preceded in death by his brother, Marcus Christian.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gail Christian; his daughter, Stephanie Parker (Clif); three step-sons, Doyle Howell (Debi), Tim Howell (Tammy) and Robert Howell (Kim); a step-daughter, Linda Adams (Mark); 2 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Chapel, with Pastor Chris Christian officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, one hour prior to the service, at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
