Travis O'Neil Garrett, 82, of Panama City, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014, at a local hospital.

He was born to the late James and Ruthie Garrett on December 18, 1931 in Moulton, Alabama. Mr. Garrett joined the Air Force in 1949 and after serving 19 months in the Korean Conflict, was stationed in St. Albans, Vermont. There he met the love of his life, whom he later married, Betty Ann LaCross Garrett. His military tours included Tripoli, Libya, Eglin AFB, Germany, Vietnam and finally Tyndall AFB, where he retired as a master Sergeant in 1974. Mr. Garrett then went on to become entrepreneur. At the time of his death, he was the active owner of numerous businesses.

Mr. Garrett enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren, as well as spending time talking with his many friends. He loved to travel and was known for always helping people.

Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty Ann; and his loving grandson, Travis Cullon Garrett.

He is survived by his son, Michael Paul Garrett; three daughters, Bonnie Lee Garrett, Tammy Sue Garrett, and Tracey Ann Garrett Carr; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Pete Zalewski officiating. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Christopher Carr, Stephen Carr, Dustin Roache, Charlie Jones, Robert Lacross, and Theodore Van Wagner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Franklin Sanderson and Lowell Russ. The family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday evening, January 9, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
