Ms. Alberta Addison was born Sept. 18, 1937, to the late Mr. Tom Henry Ash and Mrs. Delcear Ash in Wewahitchka, Fla, where she was a life-long resident and a member of St. John Freewill Baptist Church. She departed this life Aug. 8, 2010, in the comfort of her home in Wewahitchka.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Albert Major Addison; three sisters, Mrs. Rachel (M.D. "Bo"), Ms. Minnie Lira Ash, and Mrs. Ruby Rouse (Ulysses); and two brothers, Mr. Jimmie Lee (Elouise) Hunter and Mr. Tom (Franciane) Ash.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Ms. Shirley Ann (Permon C) Walker of Wewahitchka; two brothers, Mr. Eddie (Riller) Hunter of Wewahitchka, and Mr. Liddle Ash of Miami; two sisters, Ms. Clara Anna (Robert) Watts and Ms. Ruth (David, deceased) Britt of Miami; three grandchildren, Mr. James Andrew (Pam) Rouse III of Wewahitchka, Mr. Reginald Cardell (Stephanie) Rouse of Dallas, Texas, and Ms. Dana Michelle Walker of San Antonio, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Reginald Rouse, Tamiah Rouse, Jaden Rouse, Caleb Rouse, Darian Jones and Kierra Jones; two godchildren, Ms. Shalina (Dominique) Dennis and Mr. Clifford Branch, both of Panama City, Fla.; along with a host of dear friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Addison will be at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Faison Temple C.O.C.W.I.H., with Bishop Walter E. Williams, Pastor and Elder Richard A. Ford Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour before the funeral services at the church.
