Alton Oris Paulk, 70, of Lynn Haven passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1970 moving here from Pensacola, FL. Mr. Paulk was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City. He attended Jacksonville University, South Georgia University, University of Florida and the University of Florida Law School. Mr. Paulk began his career with Federal Judge Winston Arrow in Pensacola, FL then joined several law firms in Panama City before retiring from the State Attorney's office after 34 years. He also worked for the Bay County Sheriff's office for a while after his retirement. Mr. Paulk was a loving family man who enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar, fishing, golfing and always being the life of any party. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Cora Paulk, one brother, Ray Paulk and one sister, Aletha Jackson. Mr. Paulk is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dottie Paulk, one son, Kevin Lamar Paulk, one daughter, Kelly Laine Coyle and husband, Tim, four grandchildren, Morgan Brianna Celli, Marissa Paige Celli, Lyndsey Marianne Coyle and James Michael Coyle, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Aides and Larry Moye, Billie Sue Jennings and husband, Ray and Christine Paulk and husband, Jimmy, and a host of nieces and nephews he loved so much. A celebration of life service will be conducted, Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel at 5:00 P.M. with Mr. Terry Tatum Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice in memory of Mr. Paulk. The family would like to thank Dr. John Nanfro and staff and Covenant Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown during this time.
