Bernice Hand Obituary

Bernice Savio Hand, age 66, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011.

She grew up in West End. She lived many years in Bluff Park then moved to Panama City, FL. She returned to Birmingham to be near her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise Ehrhardt and Leigh Harris; six sisters, Lily Stewart, Nora Murray, Frances Campbell, Sara Soderstrom, Mary Barnard, and Andy Holland; a brother-in-law, John Barnard; and three grandchildren, Rebecca and Patrick Ehrhardt, and Sidney Harris.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2011, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montevallo with a funeral mass following at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Reverend Ray Dunmyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244, in charge of services.
