Blondell Jones went home to live with the Lord on March 6, 2013.

She was born and raised in Panama City, Florida and was the fourth child of the late Elven and Mary Jones. She was a resident of Panama City, Florida for the majority of her life having lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, Sarasota and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Alexandria, Virginia for a short period of time.

Blondell received her education in the public school system of Panama City. She loved reading books by African American authors. Among her favorites were J. California Cooper and Maya Angelou. Blondell had a gift and passion for caring. She worked at Bay Medical Hospital, Gulf Coast Medical Center, and Bay Convalescent Nursing Home (now Bay Center). She also worked for FSU Panama City Campus until health concerns required her to stop. Her last occupation was as a childcare provider for several local families and at a private in home daycare.

Homegoing celebration service will be at Macedonia Baptist Church (715 MLK Blvd.) on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends and visitors on Friday, March 15, 2013, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pasco Gainer Senior Funeral Home (A Peaceful Garden), located at 915 MLK, Jr., Blvd.
