Charles Abbott Arrants, Jr., 81, of Panama City passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Arrants was born September 1, 1930 to the late Charles, Sr. and Elizabeth Wiegand Arrants in Philadelphia, PA. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam before retiring with 30 years of service. After retiring he worked as the Adjutant General for the local DAV and restored aircrafts for the U.S. Marine Corp Museum in Quantico, Va. He was also an avid model airplane builder.

Mr. Arrants was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Arrants and his parents.

He is survived by two sons, William Arrants and wife, Donna of Southport, FL, Michael Arrants and wife, Sue of Monroe, NC; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.

A celebration of life with military honors will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel, Panama City with Rev. Elizabeth McCormick officiating. Condolences may be submitted or viewed at www.southerlandfamily.com.
