Charlotte D. Walsingham, 74, of Panama City Beach, passed away at her home Saturday, July 27, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Charlotte was born in Darrington, WA. She was a strong woman with a feisty personality. She enjoyed gardening, and always had beautiful flower bouquets. Charlotte loved to shop at Publix, and was a wonderful cook. Despite being from the northwest, she was a southern woman at heart. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved the decorations, music, and most of all, giving of gifts. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a very generous heart. Her family meant the world to her. Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." She will forever be a part of us. Charlotte was loved by all who knew her, and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald F. Williams, Jr., husband William A. Walsingham, father John Jamieson, mother Catherine Dasch, sister Bobbie Allen, brother Bill Dasch, and granddaughter, Cassie Williams and former son-in-law, Jerry Le Mense.
Survivors include her daughters, Wendi Le Mense of Panama City Beach and Lauri Brites (Jim) of Lynn Haven; grandchildren, Sierra Cardenas, Christopher Brites and Kelsey Brites, and great-grandchildren Thomas and Kalei Cardenas. She is also survived by her brother, John E. R. Jamieson I, sister Dot Vanbeek (David), brother-in-law Bob (Robert Allen), nephews, John Jamieson II (Nancy) and Richard Jamieson, niece Gail Sanders (Roger), and great nephews John Jamieson III and Sean Jamieson.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Wishart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 421 W. Oak Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401. The family would like to thank Dr. Weber, Dr. Murshed, Dr. M. Obid, and Emerald Coast Hospice, as well as our wonderful caregivers: Ruby Vinal, Brenda Watts, Pat Hickman, and Peg St. John for the care and compassion they provided us all. We also want to thank the many friends who provided such loving support.
