Mr. David Solomon Dyal, 83, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in the Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home.

Mr. Dyal was born in Callahan, Fla., and moved to Panama City in 1997 after retiring from Burmans Scrap Metal in Jacksonville, Fla. David was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and was of the non-denominational Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Dyal, in 2002; and his daughters, Elizabeth Dyal and Barbara Sprague.
Survivors include his children, Regina Crawford and husband, Fred, of Chipley, Fla., Sherry Francis and husband, John, of Rockport, Mass., David H. Dyal and wife, Cindy, of Panama City and Mary Lard of Southport, Fla.; his brother, Steve Dyal; his sisters, Missy Dyal Middleton and Pat Dyal Maddox, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandsons.
A service to celebrate Mr. Dyal's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Southerland Family Chapel with Pat Green and Jim Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to either the Emerald Coast Hospice or to Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home in Panama City.
