Donald Ray "Donny" Cox, 62, of Apalachicola passed away June 4, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Cox was born July 3, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He moved to the area in 1971 from Fort Worth, Texas, and was an electrician. Mr. Cox was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the National Guard for 20 years. His passion to pass time was the game of golf.
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Deborah Cox; his mother, Frances William and husband, Glenn; a son, Kevin Ray Cox and wife, Dion; one grandchild, Callie Cox; two brothers, Earl Cox and wife, Vicki, and Eric Cox; two sisters, Tiers Carr and husband, Jim, and Pam Starke and husband, Steve; a brother-in-law, Eddie Hoklotubbe and wife, Sara; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. EST Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Martha Harris officiating with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Elliot, Scott Baker, Tommy Pendleton, Charles Pace, Dale Nabors, Bill McCarthy and Dewitt Galloway. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice.
