Earl Rice Obituary


Earl Rice, 82, of Youngstown, Florida passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, peacefully.

Earl served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Matteawan State Prison in New York then moved to Florida, where he owned and operated Rice Express Trucking, a motel, and other businesses in Panama City. Earl enjoyed scuba diving, boating, camping and being outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford L. Rice and Mildred B. Rice; sister Ellen Jakob.

He is survived by his loving wife Denise Jo Rice of 60 years; children Lenard P. Rice, Bernadette D. Wells, Clifford L. Rice, Colleen M. Young, and Eric S. Rice; sister Elsie Bohn; brother Edwin Rice; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many family members and extended family members.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice Wing BMC at 615 North Bonita Avenue Panama City, FL 32401. Expressions of sympathy may be submitted or viewed online at www.kentforestlawn.com.
