Edward Rapp Lannan went home to his Lord and Savior March 30, 2013. Edward was born June 12, 1917, in Philadelphia, PA where he spent his childhood.
Being an industrious young man, he worked with his father during the day and went to college at night. After college he taught English and Business at Temple University. During his tenure there, Edward was asked by Garwood Sanitation company to open a production plant in Enterprise, AL in the sixties.
At his retirement, Ed and Mary Helen, his devoted and loving wife of 39 years, relocated to Panama City Beach, FL. They spent many years enjoying each other through traveling. The past three years Ed and Mary Helen resided at Glen Cove Nursing Pavilion in Panama city where they have made many loving and lasting friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Edward Lannan, two sisters, Ann and Kay.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen; his son, Kirk Lannan (Glenda) of Clark's Summit, Pennsylvania; his step-daughter, Linda Parrish (John) of Panama City Beach; a stepson, Ben Whigham (Denise) of Panama City Beach; his sister, Sally Lannan of Maryland and his niece Susan Scott of Maryland. Ed is also survived by grandchildren, Vicki Weber, Sue Cicala, James Smith, Kim Ryon, Kirk E. Lannan, Kevin Lannan, John Lannan, Ross Lannan, Kevin Parrish, and Jason Parrish as well as 13 great grandchildren. The sunshine of Ed's smile and humor will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be given to the building fund at First Baptist Church of Panama City Beach, FL.
Graveside funeral services will be held 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, AL. Expressions of sympathy may be submitted or viewed at www.southerlandfamily.com.
