Harry "Mac" McCleary, 72, died Friday March 8, 2013, in Panama City. Mac was born in Glenbernie, Md., to Harry J. McCleary and Eloise Warner McCleary in 1941. He moved to Southport, Fla., in 1981 from Memphis, Tenn. Mr. McCleary retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service with two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retirement he worked as a marine technician at Pirates Cove Marina. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, talking about Marine Mechanics with his grandson, Tad, and always told his family "He was a Navy man and would die a Navy man."
Mac is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janice Dempsey McCleary; his mother, Eloise Warner McCleary of Ocean Pines, Md.; a son, Kevin Krueger of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Donna Davis and husband, Tim, of Fountain, Fla.; a sister, Margarte Miller and husband, Gary, of Ocean Pines, Md.; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Tad, and Aaron Davis, Kara and Kaila Krueger, all of Fountain, Fla., Krystina and Kassidy Krueger, both of Bowling Green, Ky.
A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday March 12, 2013, at Affordable Funeral Care in Lynn Haven, Fla.
