Harvey Lewis Elmore, 69, died March 9, 2013, at his residence in Panama City Beach surrounded by his loving family and friends. Lewis was born in Geneva, Ala., to the late Harvey H. and Alma Mosley Elmore in 1943. Shortly after he was born, he moved to Graceville, Fla., where he was raised. He received a master's degree from Troy State University. He later taught school and coached football and basketball in Green Cove Springs, Fla., then later taught in Bonifay, Fla. Lewis was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Panama City Beach. During his lifetime he taught adult Sunday school classes and helped establish a Christian day care center. He also had a special gift where he often knew of others needs even before they asked and fulfilled them promptly. He had a passion for making sure that all church grounds always were well groomed and pleasing to our Heavenly Father. Lewis retired as an operations research systems analyst and deputy director of an aviation testing directorate from the Civil Service in 2003 after 30 years of service. He continues to help others even in his passing by donating his body to MedCure for full body research.
Other than his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his brother, John Milton Elmore.
