Ida Langford Obituary

July 9, 1921-May 16, 2011

Born in Gardner, FL, Ida Mae (Stone) was the 7th child of William and Ida Stone. She graduated from DeSoto High School in Arcadia, FL and worked as a teller, telephone operator and charge aide at G. Pierce Wood Hospital. She married John Langford in 1952 and remained married 58 years until John's death in 2010. Ida Mae was a beloved pastor's wife, cook, quilter, and seamstress. In 2002, the Langford's relocated to Panama City Beach to live near their children.

Ida Mae was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son Norman Jonathan Langford.

She is survived by daughter-Marlene (Ray) East; son-Kevin (Margie) Langford, Grandchildren: Allison Lague, Brian Lague, Jennifer East Mefford, Raymond East III, Colin Sappington, Greatgrands: Lily and Caden Mefford, Jaden Sappington; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm EST Sat, May 21st at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia and the funeral at same location Sun, May 22nd at 4 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial gift may send to Gardner Baptist Church: 3654 NW Hwy 72. Arcadia, FL 34266-8287.
