Lawrence Menard, 87, died Friday, April 12th, 2013, cared for by family with special help from Covenant Hospice at Bay Medical.

Mr. Menard, known as Larry, was born in Lawtell, La, on November 7th, 1925 and entered the US Navy just prior to his 18th birthday to serve in WW II. As a combat veteran, Larry completed 30 years with the Navy, built a distinguished career in Ship Service, and retired as a Master Chief Ship Serviceman in 1974. After retirement Mr. Menard began his own air condition and refrigeration repair business and enjoyed many games of golf with friends, including a sensational hole in one.
Survivors include 4 sons, Steve Menard of Tallahassee; Darrell Paul, Perry Paul, and Asa Paul of Panama City; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and an ex-wife and mother of two sons, Jo Menard of Panama City. Mr. Menard was also the father of the late S. Reed Menard and the late Suzanne Harvey and widower of the late Ruby Menard.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm CT, Friday, April 19th, at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Panama City, Fl, with a viewing the evening before from 6-9pm. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to a
