Mrs. Lenora Maud Arnold, 99, of Panama City, Fla., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday evening, April 20, 2009, just 23 days shy of her 100th birthday.

Mrs. Arnold was a lifelong resident of Bay County, having been born in Allenton on May 12, 1909. She was a proud homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, where she first attended at age 5. Mrs. Arnold received the Lifetime Membership Award for her active lifelong service to the church through the Presbyterian Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. "Gib" Arnold Sr.; four sons, Nate, Jack, Bud and John; two granddaughters, Jill Arnold Garner and Barbara Hidle Majors; and a sister, Marguerite Davis. Mrs. Arnold is survived by a daughter, Bobbie Arnold Hidle of Panama City; son, Robert Dale Arnold and wife, Olga, of Panama City Beach; daughter-in-law, Joan Arnold of Panama City; brother, Mitchell Johnston and wife, Mildred, of Midway, Ky.; sister, Pauline Williams and husband, Dan, of Panama City Beach; 12 grandchildren, Brenda Hidle Martin and husband, Chuck, Buddy Arnold and wife, Shirley, Steven Arnold and wife, Monie, Johnny Arnold and wife, Anita, Jimmy Arnold and wife, Vicki, Julie Mishoe and husband, Gerry, Susan Arnold Addy and husband, Dale, Nate Arnold and wife, Dee, Pattie Hall and husband, Larry, Jenny Gazzea and husband, Mike, Eric Arnold and wife, Stephanie, and Beth Aiken; 23 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Arnold will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today, April 22, 2009, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
