Lita Comfort, 71, of Panama City, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at a local hospital.

Lita was born on July 2, 1941 in Ballay, Philippines, but spent more than half her life in Bay County. She was employed for 14 years as a Supervisor at Eastern Industries. She was a woman of God and Catholic by faith. Lita was a talented cook, and her amazing fried rice and lumpia were the delight of her family and friends. She and her husband Ted enjoyed fishing together at local piers, and her home was always filled with green plants and flowers that she lovingly tended. She also loved shopping, and a weekend did not go by that you couldn't find her playing Mahjong.

She is survived by her loving husband of six years, Ted Comfort. Her children who will miss her dearly are Melody Wenger (Cory) and Rick Mann (Dottie) and her step-children, Karen Comfort, Mike Comfort (Mary), and Raymond Comfort. Lita leaves behind four siblings, Floring Flores (Sylvia), Virgie Nielens, Dennis Reeves (Elizabeth) and Evelyn Bautisti (Victor). She was a caring grandmother to Tiffany Sparks (Jonathan), Drew Comfort and Ricky Mann, Jr.

Funeral services will take place Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Chapel with Carl Fountain officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
