Louis Virgil Ammerman, a prince of the King through the grace of Jesus Christ, 86, of Southport, Fla., went home to be with Jesus on Saturday evening, Jan. 26, 2008, from a local nursing home.

He moved here in 1972 from North Tonawanda, N.Y. Louis will be joining his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn, in heaven.
Also awaiting his arrival in heaven are his twin sister, Lois Bridge; his brother, Edward "Red"; and his parents, Alta and Fred Ammerman. He is survived by his sons, Ron Ammerman and wife, Sue, of Landenberg, Pa., Gary Ammerman and wife, Martie, of Glens Falls, N.Y., David Ammerman and wife, Brenda, of Panama City, Fla., Guy Ammerman and wife, Barbara, of Southport, Fla., Keith Ammerman and wife, Debra, of Trussville, Ala., Boyd Ammerman and wife, Lisa, of Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Linda and husband, Dennis Neal, of Forest Hills, Md.; sisters, Zola and husband, Edward Kruger, of Kenmore, N.Y., Ruth Barrand of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and Freda and husband, Joe Skuce, of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Ammerman will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, in the chapel of Southerland Family Funeral Home with Dr. Wes Toncre officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at the funeral home. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Shawn Ammerman, Jay Ammerman, Adam Griggs, Robert Griggs, Tony Boullard and Kevin Ammerman.
