Merle P. Cruce, 80, of Parker, Fla. passed away Monday, March 29, 2010, at a local nursing home.

Mrs. Cruce was born August 20, 1929, to the late, Clarence and Minnie Lee Proctor in Apalachicola, Fla. Since 1950 she was a member of First Baptist Church of Parker, a member of the choir and taught Sunday School for as long as she could be involved.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Harvey Cruce; a son, Flint Cruce; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Oyler (Houston); two sisters, Eunice Counts, Shirley Batteiger (Bill); four nieces, Georgette Counts, Terri Courtney, Leslie Batteiger, Tiffany Fraioli; two nephews, Bob Roberts and Tim Batteiger.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Parker with Rev. Craig Walker officiating with interment to follow in Parker Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Parker or Emerald Coast Hospice.
