Sunrise for Mrs. Rosa Lee Anthony was on April 14, 1939, in Troy, Ala. She was born to the late Mr. Tommie Lee Grandberry and Mrs. Willie Ethel Grandberry. On Jan. 13, 2008, at age 68, Mrs. Anthony departed this life, joining in spirit her husband of 31 years, Mr. Willie James Anthony.

Even though she will be greatly missed, we will rejoice with the memory of knowing that God allowed her to be His gift for 68 years. She joined Primitive Baptist Church, where she served diligently. She later joined New Life Christian Center Church under the pastorage of Pastor Johnny Jenkins Jr. and served as one of the mothers of the church until her death. Throughout her life, she remained faithful to the Lord. In times of trial, her faith grew stronger. She never openly complained about her failing health.

She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Ms. Sonia Farmer and Ms. Pamela Johnson, both of Port St. Joe, Fla., Mrs. Sharon (Eric) Asher of Wewahitchka, Fla., Mrs. Shayla (Reginald) Elery and Ms. Phyllis Greene of Lexington, Ky.; her sons, Chief Master Sgt. (retired) Timothy (Pamela) Grandberry Sr. of Crestview, Fla., Mr. Robert Watson of Panama City, Fla., Mr. Cedric (Latasha) Anthony of Tallahassee, Fla., Mr. Calvin Watson of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Bernard (Renee) Anthony of Port St. Joe, Fla.; a loving mother-in-law, Lela Brown of Vero Beach, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anthony will be held at 2 p.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Body of Christ Church in Port St. Joe, Fla., with Pastor Johnny Jenkins Jr., officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. Public visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 18, 2008, at the funeral home. There will be a wake service from 6 to 8 p.m. EST today at Body of Christ Church. The body will lie in state Saturday, one hour prior to funeral services at the church.
