Ruby Lee Atherton, 93, died August 10, 2013 in Lynn Haven, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Atherton was born in 1920 to the late John Kyser and Addie Glass in Southport, and she remained in the area all of her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Harry Jackson Lodge 314 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven for over 50 years.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Thomas Henry Atherton, a brother J.T. Kyser and a sister, Lorene Jordan.

She is survived by one son Rodney Schlarb and Cheryl Stanley of Lynn Haven., one daughter Sherry Trail and husband Larry of Pensacola., one sister Florene Creamer of Southport., five grandchildren numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ms. Atherton will be held Tuesday August 13, 2013, at noon in the chapel of Southerland Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home starting at 10 a.m. until noon for friends and family. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven building fund in her memory.
